With truly stunning numbers of gun and rocket batteries on hand, the Red Army could call down a rain of fire to support their advances or prevent enemy breakthroughs. Similarly, they enjoyed excellent close air support, courtesy of the legendary IL-2 'Sturmovik', a truly lethal aircraft designed exclusively for low-level strikes.
